Special Agent Badge

1. Investigate Investigation - Organize a CSI- themed night for your group, friends or family:  For this task we opted to all watch the same episode of Criminal Minds.  Parents should be watching with you and girls should email me to let me know that this portion of the task is completed (remember we will be discussing as a group) jovannjadesmom@optonline.net.

Click the link to watch the episode, you will be redirected to youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsLKRyR9ml0

2. Reveal Reality - Try the eyewitness challenge:  Keep your eyes and ears open.

3. Try the Science - Forensic Physics - Its experiment time!!  Make sure you bring your supplies to participate. Crystal light (Mikayla and Jachelle), boiling water (Ms. Jovann), paper cups (Ms. Jovann), Straws (Ms. Jovann), coffee stirrer (Ms. Jovann), white construction paper (everyone), ruler (everyone), scissors (everyone).

4. Key in to Body Language - Find out about tells - A tell in poker is a change in a player's behavior or demeanor that is claimed by some to give clues to that player's assessment of their hand. A player gains an advantage if they observe and understand the meaning of another player's tell, particularly if the tell is unconscious and reliable. Sometimes a player may fake a tell, hoping to induce their opponents to make poor judgments in response to the false tell. More often, people try to avoid giving out a tell, by maintaining a poker face regardless of how strong their hand is.  We discussed tells in the meeting.  Write down a "tell" to be acted out in the meeting.  Make sure you are descriptive because you will not be the person acting out your tell.

5. Practice the Art of Detection - Write a scene or script for your own forensic - science drama.  What is a crime, how will it be solve, and who will solve it?  Use details, we can use this later as a rough draft for a script.

Should you have any questions, please let me know.

See you soon.
Ms. Jovann
